My mission statement~

I intend on "trying" to live a life that is about: not putting in my mouth things that are bad for me or have come from an animal that was treated cruely while alive on this earth and during slaughter, creating lasting fond memories for my children and grandchildren, adventure, challenging myself, respect others regardless of species, race, color or creed, taking risks, having fun, being grateful, respecting myself & my body, being authentically myself, taking responsibility for my actions, being proactive, being a problem solver, taking action, introspection, transition, change, honesty, growth, loving & helping others, having integrity, doing my best, being easy on myself, enjoying this world, becoming well read, seeing the wonder of it all and never allowing fear to hold me back!

Workout Wednesday Girls~

Ok! Here I go:
I've done pretty good with most of my goals~
I've cut out a lot of coke. Which is hard to do, cuz I love it and it settles my stomach!
I am having little to no fast food.
I've added more water and yogurt.
Here is where I've had trouble:
Walking Buck more when it's so cold
That slimquick made me jittery and messed with my blood sugar so I quit taking it.
And my new workout tape that I thought I loved, (judged too quickly) doesn't seem right for me because she starts out wayyyyyyy too quick and once I had to stop 4 minutes into it because I literally thought I was starting to stroke and then this morning I put my lower back out. What she calls a warm up is a super cardio, so to me that is jaded. I have not given up completely, I am trying to figure out how I can use parts of it. I have lot's of other's DVD's I can use, like this one which I always loved so I should have stuck with it
I don't have a scale and plan to judge my success by how I feel and how my clothes fit me.
This week my stomach issues (severe upper stomach bloating) that I have dealt with for months, have escalated to the point that I am seeing my doctor tomorrow. This keeps me from doing 100%, but I am confident I will get it figured out and move forward. Good luck to all of you! I will be over to check in on you!

Mine is not up yet, but it will be, promise!
I didn't know you are having stomach problems, I'm glad you're seeing a doc about it. And blood sugar too. Hmm, okay we're going to have to make sure you are doing this healthy. I am proud of you for sticking to your eating plans. And as far as the workout, issue, I can appreciate what you're saying about the tape. But I don;t have a plan B for you, except walking, which you've had bad weather. But maybe some exercising and stretching until you can find a new tape?

Hiya Heidi!
I forgot all about this at Christmas! I wanted to cheer you on a bit. I feel so scatterbrained right now.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you about www.sparkpeople.com its free encouraging, awesome and educational and they help you lose weight too! I've been using it since May and its made a huge difference (although honestly i've backslide just a bit over the holidays, but... I planned it ;) If you sign up, tell them that I referred you (amym.p.) Its so cool, at least check it out.

That's a bummer about the dvd :( I have one by Leslie Sansonne that you can borrow if you want. Give me a jingle or pop in when your by.
Love,
Amy

Mine is up, and I feel so ashamed. I hope you don't kick me off the team. Kick my butt yes.

Yay for WOW!!!! Thanks again for doing this. :)

Any movement you start is a start and more than before, right? So good for you!! You certainly don't want to over do it. Especially in the beginning. You won't stick to it. A new DVD is a GREAT idea.

Good Luck! See you next week.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the workout wednesday button on my blog. How do I do that?

ANYHOO, the difference between succeeding and failing is still trying even through setbacks. It's easier to do what is needed when we have that emotional rush of motivation and everything is great but that never lasts for anyone. The key is still doing what you can EVEN THOUGH there are things holding you back.

I had been really proud that I maintained what I've lost thus far. Except that I weighed in this morning to a big gain. Sigh. Time to throw out the rest of the goodies in the house from Christmas and get serious. I am so NOT going backwards!

I haven't posted mine yet either. I've been a bit distracted of late with all the drama and chaos that's been going on in my life, of late.

Tomorrow is a New Year and I'm looking forward to lots of good things. Hey, it can only get better, right?!

Good luck with all your physical challenges. Sounds like your body is protesting a wee bit, which may not be an entirely bad thing.

One of my favourite workout videos that I've used for years is by Karen Voight. I think you can order his stuff on-line. I have her Strong & Smooth Moves video. Half of it is cardio and half of it is strength training. I have a very small place, so mostly, I just do the last half of the video which is roughly a 30 min. workout. If I do the video consistently, I have seen results and it's never overtaxing.

Unfortunately, my VCR isn't working right now...getting it repaired may be #1 on my Workout Wednesday list of goals.

Happy New Year!
