One of my co-workers offered up her husband to come to my house and cut up and haul away the trees! They had to make 3 trips! Soooooooooooooo sweet! Thank you Lori! That was the most thoughtful thing ever! I am speechless!

What a mix, those lovely shots of ice covered branches and berries, and then the devastation of the lost trees. I am so very sad for your trees.

It is unfortunate, and heartbreaking to lose something that you have grown for so long. I have a nasty feeling that you are not going to be the only one who loses plants. So sorry.

YOur birch might stand back up when the ice melts. Mine did that last year too. It was touching the ground with the top of the branches, but then it just sprung back up. My pines had to be staked and tied up though.

That looks like a Bradford Pear in the front yard? They are so bad about breaking. Is that your white house with the picket fence? It is so cute I love it! It reminds me of my great-grandma's house.

Came by from Mamarazzi's place -- I'm so jealous of your beautiful pix -- but I don't envy your ice!

Ice can be so beautiful and so damaging all at the same time. The photos of the squirrel and birds are so lovely....but the photos of your poor trees are so sad! What a kind coworker you have....so glad someone was able to help you with the clearing of the trees. I hope your last tree will be okay.

(((Hugs)))

I have taken a break from baking to read a few blogs....=)

Ice is as bad as a tornado sometimes. We had lost several trees to ice two years ago and then the tornado in the spring. I don't know if we will ever get it cleaned up.
You have a good neighbor!

Merry Christmas!

Oh, my goodness....I am sorry to see the damage to your trees and shrubs. But, your earlier close-up photos of the ice are amazing and beautiful! Good job! Take care!

Wow. So beautiful. I've never seen anything like it. So sad about your tree though. We lost my favorite tree to frost one year. That's what happens in AZ.

Oh my... those ice covered tree photos are beautiful! I especially love the one with the little red berries.

It looks like you had quite a storm!

Heidi,

Your photo's are amazing! I know just what you've been through. If I never see another ice storm it wouldn't be too soon!

You have to love the goodness of friends and neighbors. I knew someone would help you out.

Merry Christmas!
