I'd rather beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Today is Black Friday. Read about the origin of the meaning HERE

I don't know why but I have NEVER had an interest in doing this whole mad shopping day thing!

Do you have a tradition of doing this?

I'd rather

be doing what I am doing:

babysitting the Super Cooper!

Look who I found in my new bench this morning?

What are you up to today?

We don't do Black Friday either. We stay home and recover. We do sometimes go out to eat that night.

I'm with you! I try to have my shopping done before now. If there is something that's too good to pass up, I sometimes will run just for that one thing, but I can't stand crowds or waiting in line. My time is worth money to me. And who wouldn't rather babysit a cute little guy?

My mom would love you!! You are the same kind of grandma that she is. She gets her joy from her grandkids!!

And black Friday is NOT for me.

I don't know what Black Friday means, but something tells me I wouldn't like it.

I'm working today - yech - but I might also get on-line and order a few Christmas presents. I've never been one to go into debt at Christmas. I do have to mail all my gifts, so I'd better get crackin'. I'm still a little in denial about it being winter and all.

BTW, I have a contest I've started over at my place, if you want to swing by & enter.

Have a great Friday!

No Black Friday shopping for me. I know people that just go crazy with the shopping on Black Friday...I would rather take my time and find special gifts for the people in my life. We don't have lots of money to spend on the holidays, so I try to keep my gift giving very, very simple.

Today I hope to catch up on blog reading, work on some future posts, eat leftovers and take a nap....=)

Enjoy your day with little Cooper....now that is a fun way to spend a day!!! =D

I normally am working but decided to take a vacation day. Trying to get some things done here before the cold really sets in.
That hasn't happened yet! I am still in my tshirt playing on the computer.

I have a friend who does the whole black Friday thing... she lines up all her stops, the adds and coupons that go with them and then actually does all the mail in rebates! She claims to save a bunch... but I am just not made that way. Sometimes I wish I would at least try... but the thought of the crowds keeps me home! We cleaned and organized today and got the Christmas tree up!

I will have to click on your link to see where all the madness came from!

Yes Heidi, that is my house! And I am trying to be more adventurous on the web... like you! It is from the place where you got your glitter pics. You can upload your own photo! I know... Neat eh?
You are my inspiration!
OH...and it is funny cuz I thought of you yesterday and how much you would have liked to have done that too!
We have to meet!

I skipped out on the Black Friday stuff too. I don't need ANYTHING that badly!

I did get to meet a couple of bloggy friends for lunch at Cheesecake Factory so that totally rocked.

Now if I can just get the house back in order (it's not magic-ing itself while I visit blogs), I'll be relaxing all night.

I've never understood going out early...with those kind of crowds...and lousy traffic...and loooong lines...just to save a few bucks. I think you had a WAY better day than all those shoppers!

Awww, Cooper is sooo cute and I'm with you...I'd rather be babysitting my grandchild than shopping on Black Friday! Thanks for your Thanksgiving wishes and I'm glad you had a wonderful holiday.

I am with you Heidi! I don't do black friday, I worked today but, if I was off I still would not be near a store and all that madness!
It tends to put me right out of the Christmas spirit!
Looks like you had a GREAT day!!

no, i have NO DESIRE, NONE to get out and fight these crowds. NEVER have, NEVER WILL! LOL
I do most of my Christmas shopping online-EVERY YEAR! ♥ Glad you had a fun day!

Thanks for the link to the info....I did not know the "black" referred to retailers making a profit. Interesting.

I think only ONCE several years ago I ventured to town on this day....not early in the morning, but later. I didn't enjoy the crowded stores, so have not done it again.

Cute captures of Cooper! Enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend!

Cooper is TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!!! I just want to pick him up and hug him and kiss his little cheeks.

We have a similar tradition here in Canada on Boxing Day. Everyone sleeps out on the sidewalks, and the doors open at midnight for "midnight madness". It's the last place I would want to be!
