My mission statement~

I intend on "trying" to live a life that is about: not putting in my mouth things that are bad for me or have come from an animal that was treated cruely while alive on this earth and during slaughter, creating lasting fond memories for my children and grandchildren, adventure, challenging myself, respect others regardless of species, race, color or creed, taking risks, having fun, being grateful, respecting myself & my body, being authentically myself, taking responsibility for my actions, being proactive, being a problem solver, taking action, introspection, transition, change, honesty, growth, loving & helping others, having integrity, doing my best, being easy on myself, enjoying this world, becoming well read, seeing the wonder of it all and never allowing fear to hold me back!

Been done tagged and Memory lane, a friday night country drive and my country roots..........

I've been tagged by Michelle;o

I don't know if any of these are weird, but hopefully random???

1. I appear to be really bubbly and social to everyone, but it drains me because I am so engaged in others when I am around them, that I enjoy and require alone time often to recharge my batteries!

2. I am a vegetarian, not for health reasons but because I can't bear for an animal to be killed for my eating pleasure. Don't worry and go thinkin' I'm a judgemental freak who hates meat eaters, I am not. To each their own. Added next day~(I don't even like the title-vegetarian. I don't like title's. I guess .............WAIT! Stop the presses...........I've just had an epiphany.....................I am going to stop saying "vegetarian" (because it conjures up wrong impressions) and just going to start saying: "I try not to eat meat" )I won't judge you for eating meat so please don't judge me for trying not to eat it. Please???? XOXOXOXOXO

3. I think my phone is for my use for the way I want to use it. I am not a slave to my phone and do not feel obligated to be at every one's whim by being available to them whenever they feel like telling me something. This aggravates many of my family and friends.

4.When I write something, anything I have to read it obsessively over and over again????

5. People don't believe this, but I have moved to a new house or town 26 six times since the day I was born and considering I have only moved twice since 1990, that is a lot! And a wasn't a military kid;)

6. I don't have a sweet tooth...................I have a starch tooth;)

7. I wanted a ton of children, at least 8, and wanted to raise them on a farm. That didn't happen! I appreciate the two I have more then anything on this earth!

Buck and I took a little Friday evening drive last Friday!

Have to get in as much road time as possible before it gets too cold to take my top down:):):):):) Ha! He just got a haircut!

This is a house I fantasized about living in years ago! It is just rotting away! Poor gorgeous house! I NEVER stop being amazed at the farmers that just let the houses on their property go to poop!

I am starting to get into this game of showing pictures of myself where you can't really see my face!

This is all that is left of the first church I ever went to as a tiny girl. Is was my mother's and grandmother's church! Ebenezer!

This is the overgrown lane that lead to my maternal Grandma & Pa's farm! When I was little, NOTHING meant more to me then going to their house!

You know how everything seemed bigger when you were little? This was their house. It seemed a lot bigger back then. I feel so sad when I see the condition it is in now. I wish it had been kept up and I could have lived in it!

This is the view from the house to the road. When I was little it literally seems like 3 football fields. I am so amazed by how small it seems now.

I could have made this into the cutest little cottage.

I remember going in and out of this door constantly! Notice the cute molding?

A tree I remember loving!
I am mesmerized by the different textures in the trunk and different limbs. Reminds me of the bottom of a mushroom!

The barn in the background was for dairy cows!
I was so excited to capture this imperfect spider web!

The building in the tree's was my very favorite. The VERY first thing I did every single time I arrived at the farm was run into this building and look for baby kittys;)

Being on the farm meant: feeling secure, loving nature, being free to explore and have fun, animals, sleeping with my grandparents and riding in the truck with my grandpa to run errands! I carry that feeling with me everyday!

This tiny little house was down yonder a bit. It was my great-grandpa's.

It too has been left to die a slow death!

The door I remember walking into. We would walk across the field and visit!

So this was my first experience with farm/country life and I loved it and felt at home and have wanted to live there again every since. Someday I will!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what this is? Anyone know or wanna guess?
Is it the inside of an old washing machine?
I love country drives more than doing anything else!

I get to see these!

Oh. My. Word. I love these photos!!! The ones of the old buildings I just want to paint them! Awesome place!
Oh, and thanks for the tag! I will see what I can do. I need to talk to you about learning how to do more design on your site. Your doing great... I need your help... but I will email you about that!

Oh, and I forgot... I was raised vegetarian, I don't have a sweet tooth and I am exhausted at being "social" for very long too!!
And to "anonymouse"... it is actually very easy to be a vegetarian. Even though I am not so much one now...(because my husband isn't and he wants his meat) I still don't eat at McDonalds...but if I were to eat there... I would get a burger without the meat...or order a salad. Wendy's has chili, potatoes and wonderful salads that you just ask them to keep the meat off of!
One of my sons and I could never eat another bite of meat again... and be just fine!
(Rice and beans make a complete protein and are easier to digest than red meat.)
Anyway... sorry - didn't mean to get all into that! Just that I approve of and admire vegetarianism! K... I'll shut up now!

I really thinking on going vegetarian. Red meat is tearing up my belly. Have you always been vegetarian?
I thought Wendy's chili has meat in it? That is so cool that it doesn't. I could see taco bell. Beans and cheese.

Great pictures...what a lovely day in the country...and your furry friend looked like he was having a great time! Those old farm houses are so cool...it's very sad that they are crumbling.

I laughed out loud when i read what you wrote about answering the phone...I drive my MIL and SIL nuts! It is so much fun. My SIL will call 20 times a day just to ask me what I am doing.

They also call and tell me everytime they leave the farm...they want me to do the same. I love to "sneak" off without telling anyone where I am going. It feels so freeing!

We had a convertible mustang for a couple years. I loved driving with the top down. My Escalade has a sunroof and I constantly have it open. Love to jam and feel the wind in my hair!

Those pics of the old homes are fantastic. I could feel the memories that they hold for you. How nice. Thanks for sharing them. Your doggy is a cutie!

I have both a sweet and a starchy tooth. ;~)
The pictures of your memory lane are wonderful. You can tell that in days gone by those homes were lovely. It's so sad that they look so forlorn now. At least you have beautiful memories.

I was raised by multiple families at various stages. They all eat meat. I love white meat. Not eating meat is a choice and a sacrafice. I crave meat sometimes. Especially in the winter. Most of the time it's not hard to cook without meat. Think of everything you cook, then take out the meat. It's that simple.
Andddddddddddd~ I am not a perfect human being~therefore I do give into my cravings for meat sometimes~ mostly at McDonald's for a cheeseburger!
Thanks for your loving comments~

Beautiful photos and I really like the one of you driving past the corn fields. Buck is a very talented photographer!

It is sad to see things decay that we once cherished. Perhaps you will be able to reclaim those places, rebuild and create new memories there. In the meantime, they are obviously alive and vibrant places in your heart.

Re: the veggie thing. I call myself a quasi-vegetarian. I don't like red meat. Never have.

Be who you are, without apology.

Thank you for the tag...I've done this a few times, so I'll see what I can come up with....I'd like to think that I'm not so weird that I have an endless supply of things to reveal...

Blessings,
Carolynn

It's just a guess, but I'd say that big rusty barrell is either a thing for watering horses and cattle, or a septic tank maybe or someone's idea of an above ground swimming pool?

I saw you over on Nikkicrumpet so I thought I'd stop by!

What a wonderful post! If there's one thing I like to see on blogs it's scenery of the area other people live in. It brings different parts of the country to ME!

What fun you had on your drive......the photos are great! I just love to see old houses, barns, etc.......in my mind, I imagine the stories they could tell. You have some wonderful memories.......

I feel the same way you do about the phone....there are days I want to throw mine out the window! In my early years of marriage, we lived in an area where there were no phones at all or even cell service!! ( that also meant no interent, but that was back when the internet was new and not many people had it anyway......)
