My mission statement~

I intend on "trying" to live a life that is about: not putting in my mouth things that are bad for me or have come from an animal that was treated cruely while alive on this earth and during slaughter, creating lasting fond memories for my children and grandchildren, adventure, challenging myself, respect others regardless of species, race, color or creed, taking risks, having fun, being grateful, respecting myself & my body, being authentically myself, taking responsibility for my actions, being proactive, being a problem solver, taking action, introspection, transition, change, honesty, growth, loving & helping others, having integrity, doing my best, being easy on myself, enjoying this world, becoming well read, seeing the wonder of it all and never allowing fear to hold me back!

Megs next big adventure~

Oakland Teaching Fellows Overview
The Oakland Teaching Fellows is looking for outstanding professionals and recent graduates to become part of this highly-selective program to teach where they are most needed. This program is designed to attract only the most outstanding individuals to increase students' academic achievement as teachers in the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). Young, mid, and post-career professionals from all fields, as well as recent college graduates - particularly those with experience in math and science- will bring their experience, knowledge, and records of achievement to the classroom to positively impact the lives of students most in need of their leadership. Fellows will become part of a powerful network of educational leaders and work with other progressive educators to make dramatic improvements in our student' academic experiences.
Your opportunity to make a difference in educational equity is right now, as Oakland continues to implement its plan to ensure greater student achievement, effective management, and quality instruction. Become a part of this historic turning point in the Oakland Unified School District by working to educate our city's children.
Candidates benefit from a streamlined application and selection process and, if selected, the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive Training Institute prior to teaching. Oakland Teaching Fellows pursue a teaching credential by enrolling in a credentialing program while teaching full-time and receiving a full-time teacher's salary.
The Oakland Teaching Fellows is committed to providing the students of Oakland with a new group of teachers who will work to increase their level of achievement and academic success. Fellows teach at all levels in the District's most challenged schools. We are particularly looking for outstanding candidates to teach math, science, special education, Spanish, bilingual education and physical education in high-need classrooms throughout the District.

YOU. GO. GIRL!
Love, your mama!
