ABC Wednesday letter N~

N is for Novice!
I am a novice photographer and especially with water/sunset effects!
We have a small lake, Springlake, about 10 miles north of town. It is where our water comes from. I have witnessed some wicked water effects from sunsets in the summer. I have meant to get out there for weeks and kept forgetting at just the right time.
Well I was slightly disappointed. The effect wasn't there when I went there last Sunday evening. Is it the time of the year?? (Looking for an answer please) The sun sat too low as it set and wasn't high enough over the trees to hit the water the way I remember it mid summer.
Well these are what I did catch~
This little guy greeted me as I entered the lake!
How do people get their gun out, look through the scope, see this, then shoot???? I am truly not judging, I just truly do not get it?? I really don't. My brain won't rap around it??

Golden leaf!

Beautimus!

Pretty as a picture!

I just like the contrast!

Looks like mustard spread like paint across the sky!

???? I like, but not what I was trying to get. I do like the ripples though!

I like the reflection of the trees on the water!

As far as sunsets go I'm wondering if it has a lot to with the temperature. It has really cooled off here (snowing right now) and the breathtaking sunsets are pretty much gone. Just an idea, not sure. I will say that you still got some wonderful pictures. I love shots of the sunset reflecting on water. Good job!

When I go hunting it's just like what you did, I'd rather shoot a picture than a gun.

I love your life list- you'll get your dirt bike someday and when you do try a wheelie!

I love the mustard smeared across the sky and the golden reflection in the water. Nothing novice about your choice of shots.

What beautiful shots. You did a great job. I love the photo of the deer. So peaceful and lovely.

I do think the time of year plays a roll in how the sunlight plays off of water....the sun now is lower in the sky when it sets, so the rays will not hit the water at the same angle they do in the summer months when the sun is higher in its arch arcoss the sky......Just my thoughts and I am so a "novice" when it comes to that kind of stuff and photography.

Considering yourself a novice, I must say you're taking stunning photographs! Keep it up...

It's the kind of place that will be different every time you go. It will change with the time of year, the time of day. It will be different at the same time of day on a different day--even just the next day. Keep going back and keep an open mind and be ready to get that next shot.

If you are a novice-that must make me a ---I don't know--what comes before novice--anyways--beautiful shots!! As for the hunting--I was was raised in a non gun home but I married into a hunting family. I really think it is because they never enjoy the sweetness of the animal--its all about food and the shot. Maybe i'm crazy----

Very nice collection! The deer scene is lovely, like a painting. I like those ripples, too. And, that final photo is cool.....like a stark black & white. Nice job! We just gotta keep shooting and enjoy the results!
