My friends- I need some help! please vote:)

Dress update!!!!!!-I hadn't tried on the purple one yet and did last night. NOT pretty. You see I have gained weight. Not by eating big macs, Ben & Jerry's or whole pizza's by myself. I have gained weight because of several factors: As I age my body is changing, I had a hysterectomy and had to have steroids for 3 years for an autoimmune disease, which changed my muscle structure forever. I have always eaten like a bird and pretty healthy. Not a health freak and not perfect, so I mess up! But even when I mess up, it's in tiny portions. I don't have a sweet tooth. If I were anything I'd be a carbo junky. So I am trying to accept this weight, but I don't like and don't feel comfortable in my skin..........yet! I'm working on it.

So that is why this dress thing is so serious! When I ordered the silver, it was a no-brainer for me. I knew I would love it because I had the dress already in black (Megan won't let me wear black:) But it didn't feel perfect, so I ordered the Red/Corral one. You see Megan wants this casual but pretty. Some "mother of the bride" dresses I showed her early on were WAY too formal she said. So after hours of looking and I am weary now, I found the red/corral one. It had, what I thought, were the mixings of perfect: comfy, good for hiding my problem spots, bright color (Megs wanted that too), fun! But then she thought that one was too casual so I ordered the purple (she picked it out for me) and it is for super skinny people. Sooooooooooo????????????????????

Anyhouser- I still don't know what I am wearing and it is stressing me out something fierce. I want to please Megan because it is her day, but I also don't want to look like an overstuffed pillow case:( I really feel most comfortable in empire waist shirts and dresses. They accentuate my good (I have some breastses now:) and hide my bad (stomach) but I can't find any? Any clues?? I would greatly appreciate it since the wedding is ONLY 9 days away! Peace!

For my friends that visited previously, I added a little............This is my Megs, (with Cooper when he was three days old) Megan, Mango- She is the reason I need your help-read on please.......

Megan ( my first born) and Jonathan are having a wedding celebration Sept. 20th. It is a small, intimate affair that will be fun, elegant and gorgeous! It's out side on a family pond on Jonathan's side. There will be a big white tent with white paper lanterns, candles, dance floor (oh yea! I will be dancing. I LOVE to dance) and beautiful decorations made mainly by Miss Megan herself. She is a little Martha Jr. This is the dress she is wearing. Isn't it gorgeous?! It is simple and gorgeous, just like Megan. Did you know JCrew had wedding dresses? She loves JCrew and so do I.

Anyhouser-I am struggling with which dress to wear. I have all 3 of these and need to choose. I love each of them, each have their pros and cons and each one is VERY different from the other. I don't feel like wearing a dress. But I have to so I am trying to pick the best one. What do you think I should wear?

What I like about this one : (Megan picked this one out for me from JCrew)
It's purple ( one of my colors)
It's a wrap dress (flattering )
I like the silky material

What I like about this dress: by Isaac Mizrahi
The bodice cut
The full and swingy skirt
I wore this exact dress in black 3 sizes smaller last summer and adored it. But when I tried this one on I felt frumpy.

What I like about this one: from Victoria's Secret
Easy breezy material
Comfy
Pretty color
Flowy, longer skirt (show less leg)

This is the same dress as above and the way I would wear it that day!

So, what do you think? This is driving me crazy so "thank you" so much for your help:)

I really like all of them but I would pick the red one hands down! It is elegant, faltering, and yet not too stuffy! You know... playful and free! I want the red one! It's so funny because I could see myself wearing any of the three! We are alike!
Thanks for your comments!

i like one or the last one. purple looks hideous on me though.

it depends on your body type...if you have the clevage and legs...do for one, if you need to hide your belly but show off your clevage and legs and arms...go for the last one...

ps...red is always hot

I think the purple one is a great mix between the silver and the red - more flattering than the silver, but more party-like and festive than the red one. The red one to me looks more like a vacation, beach dress. Or for a date or something. i'll have to see it on though.

The red one looks like it would be fun, casual, pretty and elegant all rolled into one.
The marriage celebration sounds really nice.
Thanks for the comment and visit. You have a really good site here.

I think that if the purple one is flattering on your figure, I would wear the purple. Reason: The red may steal the show from your daughter and you don't want to be remembered as the "Lady in Red." The silver is nice but a bit too stuffy I would think, for the occasion. That leaves the purple one. If your hips are big I might reconsider because this is a straight skirt. if not, then definitely - I would wear the purple.

Let us know which one you wear!

I am absolutely in love with the Victoria Secret one!!! I love the RED!!!
But you should always go with something that YOU feel comfortable in. The Red and the Purple are great dresses and great colors. But I have to say the RED!!!

I love red and purple .....my choice would be the purple....reason...I love the flattering style....I don't know if you are one who would wear a dress like that again...but you could...and should and could use it during the feastive season for parties and the likes....I love red and it is a nice dress I just think it might be to summery and well we are getting into fall...

So my vote is for the purple dress..

So far 92% ( I guessed) of everyone does not like the gray/silver one.

Here's why I like it and the black one I have. They are classic "Jackie O" style which I love. And the skirt part is playful and fun like me:)

But it's looking like the Purple one is getting the most votes so far.

XOXOXOXOX everyone for voting:) You're to sweet!

I really like the silver but not if you feel frumpy..you need to feel comfortable. Hmm...I think the purple would be my first choice. I looks fun and you should be able to dance the night away in it! : )

The Purple or the silver. The 2 red ones are nice but the material is to casual. You are the mother of the Bride.

The purple dress is gorgeous. Like the grey one, but would avoid feeling frumpy at all costs. Hmmmmm don't know about the red.

I would wear the purple one. The gray one is too Tiffany. I love the red but but it's more of a 'take-me-home-and-do-me' dress that you would wear on a date with HIM, not to your daughter's wedding. I would buy the purple and the red one. One for now and one for later ;)

I think some, not all, people are confusing the red dress being so sexy with the models wearing them. I have NEVER considered myself a sexy person, and I would not look sexy in the red dress. I wouldn't have ordered it for my daughters wedding had I thought that. The goal is: casual, but pretty, and comfy and fun! LOL Thanks for all the comments so far. It is helping me:)

Definitely the RED dress, babe! It has style, classy sex appeal, and it moves and flows beautifully. This is not just a cocktail party, it's your daughter's wedding (!) I don't think it would compete with your daughter's dress, I think it complements it. Your daughter's the bride, she's going to be the centre of attention, regardless.

The other two are just okay.

hey, you asked...

The red dresses are beautiful but if the material is jersey Do Not Wear it To Your Daughters Wedding. If they were a different material, Which they may be, then I would say the first red dress for sure but I personally do not like the matral it looks like it is.

Adventure girl, suggestion. Have you tried looking at Old Navy? I recently saw some very cute dresses on their website, and also over at J Crew as well. Hope it helps.

Well, when I saw the silver one, I thought "that is Heidi". You will look darling in the silver one with heels and great accessories. The silver one is YOU.

As usual, I don't have the same opinion as the majority of people.
